Final proof that players on RP servers are not only care bears!!
The NA RP server came in first in NA in WvWvW (PvP) battles last weekend, and EU RP Server became second within EU.

Re: Guild Wars 2: To Glory
Short but interesting article about the stories and background for the GW2 universe: Telling stories... and Back Again
The article is from Jeff Grubb.
Why is this important you may ask? Well let me enlighten you...
Jeff Grubb is one of the creators of the 'Forgotten Realms' universe. The FR universe is the setting for most of the Dungeon & Dragons campaigns, both the table top versions, as well as the D&D based RPG video games.
And I'm guilty of playing both types a lot
Two of the most famous RPG games that play in the FR universe are Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights from Bioware. These were the games that got me hooked on RPG gaming. Boy did I love playing these.
A novelty in Baldur's Gate was that you could start a 'virtual relation' with one of the characters in the game. Mine was with Jaheira: Jaheira in Baldur's Gate series
So if you read this article by Jeff, remember its coming from an RPG hero for many many years.
Side Note: The '... and Back Again' in the article's title is a tongue-in-cheek referral to the book 'The Hobbit, or There and Back Again', telling the adventures of the hobbit Bilbo Baggins. The Hobbit and (more famously) The Lord of the Rings are the grand parents of all fantasy based stories and subsequent RPG games. Jeff is basically paying homage to his lore master J.R.R. Tolkien.
BTW, did I already mention how awesome this game is?
...and not only for Jeff, because we also have... Ree Soesbee. To give you a hint why I just love Ree, watch this: Growing the Sylvari
Stay tuned, for more lore

GW2 RP community gives a big and emotional 'THANK YOU': Thank you ArenaNet!!
So happy that there are still communities that truly appreciate a brilliant (MMO / RP) game and the developers that created the magic
Best community for the greatest game since WoW ... so I've said it
(I'm so gonna love this game)

GW2 proofs commercial success already at pre-launch: Guild Wars 2 sells 1 million before launch
That would mean NCSoft / Arenanet already made somewhere between 60 - 100 M$ on this game before it really started. Not bad, not bad at all!

First player to reach level 80: Surfeuze, first character to reach level 80
It was first rumoured he did this only by crafting, but that proved incorrect, most was done by doing PvE.

New GW2 trailer: Our time is Now
Very interesting approach for a trailer, as it starts IRL.
But then again, ArenaNet has always been top of the class in creativity
Also GW2 sales are open again... my daughter will be sooo happy
