Fredrik and I are trying Rift for a change : it's a new MMO.

Interface and such is very much alike WOW, so we are not completly lost. Graphism are more realistic. World is more alife, and changing with invasion of Rift disturbing your quest zone.
There is 4 class to play with (4 calling) : warrior, cleric, mage and rogue. Each of those class have different soul. You need to pick up three souls and create your own spe with it. You can be tank/healer/dps with all calling (well no tank mage, sorry Geir !!) That allow you a lot of possibilities, even if some spe synergise better with each others than some others.
There is 2 factions : Guardian and Defiant. Basicly Guardian are religious and follow their Gods, while Defiant are some kind of mad scientist. There is also more Defiant player.

Fredrik and I are playing on the Eu PVP server Shivermere (because he had some old friends playing there, even though we have never meet them) on the Guardian side. I'm a high elf mage Elloa and Fredrik a high elf rogue Sidori. I've pick up a healing spe which is awsome : chloromancer : heal through dps pewpew!
We are lvl 20. We have done quest, rift raid, some war front (battleground) and one very beautiful instance.

Now, this will not make me stop to play WOW and to take care of the guild. if that can reassure you, i've already paid WOW for six month!! :p You will not get rid of me so easily !!! Non, mais !!

Oh how could i not see this comming, ofc -you- would bash your head in and say something like that, but we go again. And yes i hate rift cause it sucks, everyone go around and pray of it as it would be the wow killer and everything. I dont see how that game can be fun at all since all it does it taking most of the stuff from games already out there. If you want to actually kill a game you better think of something new instead of that crap. I hope you´re a little more happier with that post mister?

Yes, much better!

But, this is the "business model" a lot of games (most actually) use, in any genre. Like the new upcoming Cryisis 2 for example, it doesn't really add any new gameplay element we haven't seen in the last 10 years - it just tries to do it a bit better. Now, Rift might not be a "wow killer", that term is being thrown around way too often - but it's interesting enough in itself, even if it might not really replace wow.

And this is Nilla, my little dwarf cleric. In this game, dwarf are really uber cute ! <3 In many way I prefer her over my elf. It's cleric. I've a role tank : justiciar/shaman/sentinel and a role ehh..experimental (sort of instant dps/heal) : warden/sentinel/druid (druid is just to get the cute pet which heal me)

Well, that's some nice dwarfie:) Prehaps if you happen to know Lineage 2, then dwarven girls there are basically like suggar-cane. OK, graphicaly It's promising. Could you let us know how's the game from the point of view of interesting game mechanics? I heard the skill customisation opportunities are quite high here.....

Nice dwarfy wendy, rift female dwarfs are much better looking than their wow counterpart, no offense intended nani
and cleric seems quite fun, and overpowered

anyway here's khao, mage lvl 37 warlock/necromancer,dominator
it's mainly a dots and pet class with a death ray that heals both me and my pet while doing massive damage to the enemy, great for leveling. dominator is just to have a cc, I can turn people into squirrels ^^
