That's really promising Alakina!
I just finished the newest comic, so here's that: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_W3ZLd6nVaDc/TInwozdtaeI/AAAAAAAAAkk/n67nQHiaG0k/s1600/(09.09.2010)+Comic+Mario.png

Re: Our Creations!!
It's looking really nice Jo! However, I believe her proportions are a bit off, her legs seem a bit short compared to her upper body. Her feet are a bit too small as well, if you compare it to the hand you have right next to her foot.
But you draw so beautifully! And it's so fun to see how you've developed these few months.

Re: Our Creations!!
damn i thought i had it this time :/ i used my sister as a model for it. i show u my sister, i think it looks good with the proportions but it always takes more eyes to judge i will try to fix it, and some of it will be covered with grass, maybe its the shadows who needs to be sorted out, i hope so xD
My sister isnt very happy about the way she looks and will get angry at me if i show anyone this pic, so i decided to blur her out but you can see how the body is.

Re: Our Creations!!
Arh, makes me all warm and fuzzy inside when people like my work. :') I think I'll have a new one by Monday, depends on if I go out this weekend I guess.
The lower part of the body may be a bit small. I didn't really notice it myself, but with shades and terrain, some of which covering parts of the body, I doubt people will notice.

Re: Our Creations!!
but i have to defend myself now...
you can call me cheater if u want but here goes..
when i draw something i use something called lineart first...even if i do everything on my own with my pen and tablet i always use a model to draw the outerlines. inside them its all me but the lines isnt.
Therefor i think the proportions are good since they are exactly drawn from the picture above. I do have troubles with proportions and therefor use the simpliest ways of getting a picture right..With Lineart. Also have in mind that this isnt finsihed yet and what you may see atleast i hope is only the shadows a bit missplaced and other colors between the areas where there should be only white.
Dont get me wrong im very happy you guys are helping me with pointing out the wrongs so i can be better and learn im not upset you telling me she looks a bit small downwards maybe she does , i just wanted u all to know that im a cheater when i paint. and that my sister dont have very good proportions maybe?

Re: Our Creations!!
I wouldn't call that cheating, Alakina. It's like doing a pencilsketch first and then drawing over in Photoshop, which I think people do all the time. Nothing wrong with that. Wasn't trying to put down the drawing, because it's really good. I was just saying that if there's a slight propotion problem, it wouldn't really matter as much once shadwos and surrounding terrain are in place.

Re: Our Creations!!
What I really like in this drawing is the face. The lips, and glance is really well made. And for that you are not cheating anyway ! SO trust yourself a bit more !
The only suggestion I could made for you to really make a big jump in progression is to do time to time sketching from a real model (so not a picture). I know it's not easy to arrange it. You need to find someone who accept to stay quiet etc or start with fruits baskets and flowers, and the first drawing will probably be disapointing. But after sometimes, it will really give you another vision, and a different way to make your own draw. Believe me, it's really worst the effort.

Re: Our Creations!!
yeah i did that alot in school but i lost it somehow, perhaps cause they didnt turned out good enough xD im a bit impatient irl aswell and want result the same time i take the pencil in my hand. Not very artistlike :/ but i will def try do sketch more and improve myself.
Face of a human is one thing i find very easy to draw, the nose can be a bit troubeling but after a while i get it to fit with everything else.
Anyways thank you guys for helping me, i will try to fix the proportions with rearrange some shadows and stuff. but now
im gonna do sandwichcakes YUM!

Re: Our Creations!!
According to the picture your drawing looks right. I bet it will look right once you get the shading and such done.

Re: Our Creations!!
And I'm not really sure what you mean by cheating? You trace or draw by sight? Drawing by sight from a photo isn't cheating, it's just a way to learn and practice and make your art better.
If you're able to you should join a croquis class, it's really helpful for learning proportions and just drawing what you see. Of course.. it is incredibly hard in the start! I just joined my first one last Wednesday, my drawings we're quite far from great.

Re: Our Creations!!
I remeber the first time I draw a real naked woman in such a class, I was 16, and I didn't managed to do anything properly, despite my experience with flowers and fruitbasket. (ofc I had also choose the wonderfull angle where I was certain to not see her...mmmh...her..thing. Was very shy at this age with nudity) I remember to have cry of frustration on my paper.
Today I think I'd cry again if I toke back my pencils :p

Re: Our Creations!!
Heheh yea.. I find it really frustrating to draw again too right now. Such a long time since I did it last, feels like I can't even draw the simplest things.

Re: Our Creations!!
i use my pen and draw the lines when i have the picture under another layer...for me...yeah that is a bit of cheating but to my defence its only the lines i need a model for...the rest is going with a flow...ofc i look on other pictures to study them and see how things should be..
But the lineart...that isnt me rly, maybe i should call them helplines..you know like in a kids paintbook. figures in lineart...
i draw the lineart too at first to help me get everything right.
And i have done sandwichcakesd
and yeah maybe i should start some lessons in drawings again could always use an upgrade in this weird brain of mine ^^

You look like a huge Audi fan =)
Can't wait to see what you're gonna come up with it
EDIT: I've found the way to overcome the "ICE BURN" madness. Period.

Re: Our Creations!!
Hey guys, so you might remember this sketch of a shop I did some time ago. Here's the completed project:
Photo-rendering:
Structural rendering (I personally love this one):
And the main facadé (there's nothing interesting on the other ones):
There's a lot more of course, but I don't think it might be very interesting to show (like floorplans etc.). I had it delivered two days ago and got 10 out 10 for superb conjunction of architecture and structure together. I guess this project was really worth all my time and effort I put into it. The fun thing will start once I'll have to calculate the loads and properties for all the structural elements though .
I expect to upload a picture of the real life model of this project once I finish it during the weekend. Cheers!

Re: Our Creations!!
Bah. Next comic won't be ready in ages. I've sent out a near-finished version of it to people today, asking for harsh feedback, and I really need to completely re-work it, to make it funny. Hopefully it'll work. :p
Also, the store's looking great!

And here's the real life model - a lil' wonky somewhere, but somewhat fine. I'm off with my shop now
