Wandering Story... Empty Wandering Story...

Post by Alakina Thu Jul 08, 2010 1:03 pm

When i was at work today we had a little bit of storytelling for the elders, i remember that i used to do this as a kid and i had a great teacher who told a story about us and then we kids could come up with anything to fill the story up.

I thought it could be a fun thing to do here on the forum Smile...
But this story should not be about our characters in wow, no no this should be for us behind our avatars so when we tell this story we use our own names.
The story will build up after a time.

Rules:
  • You should write the text so its somehow a bit linked to the writer above you.
ex: Johanna writes: I think i saw a horse in the doorway.
  • The next one writes: I didnt see any horse there but there was a huge troll standing in the doorway and blocked my way.
  • Dont use you names you have ingame, it should be you in person who experience this story Smile
  • The story can be about aaaaanything and i mean absolutely anything, as long as its a bit linked to the writer above you.
Only your imagination puts an end to this and since imagination has no boundaries...well you know the point ^^
  • You can jump into the story whenever you want to, only make sure your entrance is somewhat alike the storys maintheme (Djungle/Night/Battle/Meeting etc)
  • You may end your part in the story whenever you like, but it should be an ending where you write about how your character ends it (Death/Dissapearance/New mission,quest/Better opportunity etc)

Johanna stood at the bridge and watched down the black water flowing beneath her, the air was cold and her breath came out as white smoke.

- I will fight till the end and noone can stop me! She said while throwing another small stone straight down.

- If i die, than so be it, i will not crawl back as a rat scared of water.

The person who stood next to her let out a long drawn sigh and then turned to walk away from her.

- Wait! Why are you leaving? Did i say something wrong? Johanna yelled.

The person turned around, looked at Johanna and said...............

now the next one continues Smile

-I dont want you to get killed over something stupid as a stonestatue.
noone believes in it anymore, we have turned away from the old ways. Its time you did too.
Johanna looked at the person with sadness in her eyes.
-I will never turn away from the old ways and what i believe in. You can choose to leave if you like, but i will not turn away from this.....

Let's get this started up folks!

As the other person walked away and the woman peered across the water, she did not see the man in the bushes close by. He slowly rose and walked towards her, whistling as not to startle her.

'My lady...I..I heard your plea and I am ready to follow you, fight for your cause'. The young man seemed insecure but not without courage. Yet....

Johanna turned around to face the man. She eyed him up and down and in her eyes something familiar was shown but soon dissapeared.
- Who are you? she asked and turned around again to stare down into the black water beneath her.

'I am Robin', he replied, 'of the village of Pyrosius, in the mountains up north'.

He slowly walked forward and rested besides her, looking to the side to catch a glimpse of her eyes.

'So...what exactly are we fighting?'

-Robin from Pyrosius..hmm...The man who fights with bravery. Skilled too they say, They call you a ghost. Is it true?

Johanna looked at Robin and a feint smile spread on her lips.

-It doesnt matter if its true though. I still need you. what we are fighting against, i will let you see with your own eyes.

Johanna pointed at a spot down the river

-Look there...tell me what do you see.

Robin put his hand to his forehead and peered down the river, to the spot Johanna pointed at.

'It's...it's....a boat of some kind. Not too big, maybe 3 to 4 people in it. Though...those don't look like people at all'.

He looked at Johanna's face again, not a hint of worry to be seen.

'I think this will be very interesting, don't you think?', he said.

Wendy was standing proudly in a straight posture, arms crossed on her chest, her red hair floating in the cold wind as a bloody banner. A heavy cloak of wolf fur covered her shoulders, and fall till her calfs, revealing almost nothing of her figure. She was keeping a perfect balance, despite the stream of the river maltreating the small boat, revealing that she was used to tumultuous waters. Her glance was filled with determination, her lips constricted in a almost sensual pout.
Arround her were sitting others, hidden in wild beast fur, and leather scraps. None of them seemt to navigate the craft.

Stil far, the boat was approaching rapidely, and very fast Robin and Johanna were able to discover what the stream was bringing to them.

Johanna looked into the distance as she saw the boat getting nearer them both.

-No, they are barely humans anymore. People call them beasts. and sometimes i too believe they are. It is said they can hear the winds whispering in the trees giving them advices for battles.

Johanna pointed at the one standing up. she looked female.

-I think that is their leader. I can sence her powers from here. Get ready Robin. We dont know their purpose here. The beasttribe of Dulahan is not to be taken lightly!

Johanna pulled out her sword and was standing ready...

Robin nodded and loosened the straps holding his weapon on his back. Reaching over his shoulder and gripping the molded wooden handle, he swing the heavy looking, dual-bladed, axe with relative ease, as if it wasn't as heavy as it looked.

'I am ready for them, let them come...' A moment of uncertainty flickered in his eyes but vanished as soon as he laid his other hand on the axe's handle, about mid way up.
'We'll at least give them a good fight, the two of us, if we remain without reinforcements'.

The boat anchored upstream were the river slowed her waters with laziness among rocks and reeds. The fact that they were in range of arrow didn't semt to bother them, or to break their confidence. With haste and agility, the Duhalanis jumped out the craft, splashing themselves with water and mud. Following them, with assurance and a certain grace, Wendy stepped out of the boat lastely. She was holding a wooden staff – which semt to have been made out of a root rather than a branch- covered with rich moss, and decorated with diverse trinckets : bones, feathers, shells...
She continued to walk without a word, her tribesman stepping back as she passed by them, and following her, keeping a respectful distance. She didn't eyed even once in the direction of Johanna and Robin, but it was clear that she was advancing toward them. Once she was close enough to be heard, she announced herself with a deep voice, in a common deformed by a light accent :

- I'm Wendy-Elloa-Nohan of the Four Winds, daughter of Manahi-the Northen Star and Eran-The Windspeaker, coming into this land to share a prophecy concerning the Last-Devotee-of -the-Stone-Mother

-Lower your axe Robin, these beasts are not here to fight this time.

Johanna let out a deep sigh of relief, and she losend her grip of her sword and placed it yet again behind her back in the sheath. Her hand was white out of the firm grip she had around the handle. Johanna took a deep breath and yelled back at the furclothed woman down below.

-We greet you and your tribe Wendy Elloa Nohan of the Four Winds. I am Johanna Shadowwalker from one of the warriorclans up north. Daughter of Skryja Svalvarde the Priestess and Dorm Dragonsbane. Please come, we have much to discuss about the prophecy you speak of.

Johanna took a deep breath and looked at Robin. Her face was calm and she smiled at him.

-They are a very welcomed sight Robin, they can help us in our quest. They will be powerful allies. Out of curiousity. You wield your weapon very well. Who taught you the ways of the axe?

She turned her face to the beasttribe from Dulahan down below who had with Wendy in front start to walk towards them with speed and determination. Whatever they were beast or human they handled the rough landscape with ease and it was almost as they were hovering over it.

Johanna looked up towards the horizon, a thick mist was forming. Her faceexpression turned worried and she froze in her place. A gigantic dark shade walked fast towards them but was still covered by the mist. She heard the sound almost a second to late.

- ROBIN LOOK OUT!

She reached for him....

...and pushed him out of the way before he could answer her questions. The shade rushed past where he had stood just seconds ago and kept going, only halting several meters away. It turned around to face them again and started moving towards them once more when it suddenly froze in place.

'Get ready!', Robin yelled, but it was too late anyway. The shade started dissolving as fast as it had formed.

'What was that...and what happened to it?' He asked to himself and Johanna.

'I can answer that', a voice behind him said. Both turned around to see the new arrivals standing there.

Johanna and Robin turned to face a woman in a hooded robe, only her chin and mouth were clearly visible, her eyes partly covered by the hood.
- Who are you ? Johanna asked, followed by -and what was that?!

The womans mouth curled up in a little smile, while she pulled back her hood she replied:
- I am Anissa from the Order of Ciranur, that shade was my creation.

Johanna and Robin glanced at eachother, the Order Of Ciranur ...
People told their children about it, it was said that once in a while a child was born that could weave the fabric of dreams, create nightmares and beautiful dreams.
But that was all it was, a story

Meanwhile Wendy reached the group gathered on the bridge...

( hope it's okay I'll try and jump in with an input Smile )

Meanwhile...

Not far from where this takes place, a young mysterious traveller from the west is travelling through the deadly mountain forest known as Ieowinn. the path leading to where our current story unfolds. The forest where it's said that beautiful but yet dreadful and mischievous creatures lies
waiting to ambush whom ever might be so courageous to pass through this forest road. The mysterious traveller seems to be without conviction and fear, just whistlening happily, untouched of what might be in the shadows outside of the road and inside of the thick jungle-like terrain,. The sun cannot cross through the thick leaves and big trees, so if you dare to walk astray from the mountain path you are sure to get lost in the dark jungle-like forest.

Suddenly the travelsman stops for a minute, he can finally see the end of the mountain path, almost out of his eyesight to reach, he can spot a gathering of people, on what appears to be a bridge not far from the mountain road.

- FINALLY !

he screams up with a big smile across his face and with great anticipation he begins to speed up, headed for the gathered people.

(its very much okey...the more the marrier Very Happy welcome to the wandering Story ^^)

- The order of Ciranur. Johanna thought for a while.
- I've only heard of you in fairytales. Something about a child and creating of dreams. What is your purpose here Anissa?, Have you come to fight us?

Johanna slowly reached for the handle of her sword not sure how to handle the womans faceexpression.
- Or are you here because you are fighting for the old ways?

Johanna looked behind Anissa and gave Wendy and her tribesmen a nod when they reached the small gathered group...further in the distance behind Wendy she could see a figure speeding towards them coming out from the jungle-like forest.

Anissa gave a glimpse of a smile, she liked what she saw, maybe we can do it she thought.

- I'm not here to fight you she said -but my story is a long one and not quite suited to spout out very fast on a bridge, let us gather in the tavern as soon as the traveller catches up, what I have to tell concerns us all.

Johanna released the grip of her sword, things kept getting stranger and stranger.
Together they waited for the new arrival, everyone deep in thought.
Anissa's thoughts wandered to the past, not so long ago everything seemed fine, untill the mistake...Anissa sighed.
She wasn't to happy with the task at hand, how hard would it be to tell them about the mistake they made, that the old ways wasn't the only thing that needed protection, Life as everyone knew it aswell...

Tap tap tap. It sounded from his staff, he was walking faster and faster untill they were of hearing range and he could see them clearly.

-''Oooi''

-I see so it was you standing there!, I left in a dire rush when I received your request that you needed my aid, is everything well Johanna? ,- I see you gathered up with powerful looking people. This is more serious than I imagined.

The crowd now even more confused, an awkward silent moment came by. Johanna was overwhelmed of the strangeness this day had shown, and before she could answer, Robin broke the silence and spouted with little fear in hes voice.

-Who are you traveller!? These parts are dangerous to travel alone don't you know that!
Johanna! Who is this guy? Do you know this strange traveller?

-Sorry for my rudeness, let me allow you to introduce myself, I am Anders bjorkvin, son of the great clan leader of Valkryion from the west, that's all you need to know.

Anders eyed Johanna and gave her glimpse of a cheeky smile and a reassuring look that everything would be okay now. He could now see that the crowd was more mysterious then what the first look gave away.
Before anyone else got the chance to befriend each other Anissa said.

- Very well, Johanna it seems like you know this person, let us continue we have much to talk about, and little time to spare!

Wandering Story... Empty Re: Wandering Story...

Post by Elloa Fri Aug 05, 2011 3:13 pm

The tavern was an old inn standing along the dark road crossing the woods. The main building, made of cobblestone and pine wood had been left in a deplorable ramshackled state. No travelers, no merchant were using this lost road anymore, and the only clients the innkeeper family managed to gather in their poor inn, were drunkard lumberjacks, adventurous hunter, or highway thieves.
The forge was left unused, and served of henhouse, the proud anvil covered of chicken droppings, crunched eggs shells, mud, grain and straw. Gloomy pines surrounded the buildings, extending their branches above the roofs like giants'claws .

The group advanced on the sand road. Wendy was closing the march. With a single movement of head, she had ordered her men to stay behind, and was walking silently. Her green eyes didn't left Anissa. She was observing her with obstination. Her face stood motionless. No words come out of her mouth till they arrived to the old Inn. There, she advanced in front of the group and with her deep voice, tell them this :

-"My tribe had been in war during centuries, with all nations of the Great Forest, and the Mountain... did she add while eyeing Robin, "But the world is now in such a danger, that we can not afford to fight each others anymore. We need to forget our past hostilities, and work together."

She paused a moment, her owl like eyes scruting Anissa once more. By the way she was looking at her, others could guess that somehow, she had recognised her.

-"I demand your benevolent protection once I'll enter in the house of the man of the wood, as they will certainly show me no mercy."

-----------------------
I think, in future we should be carefull to only play for ourselves and not play for others. It's a common rule in open RP game on forums. It has not been said in the first thread, so please no stress, but I think it will be better to only play for ourself, and let others decide for their own actions and thoughs. Smile

I'll clear the comments post too, now Smile

Johanna stepped forward and placed a hand on Wendys shoulder. She closed her eyes a moment and took a deep breath before answering.

-Wendy! daughter of the winds. My sword seeks only to protect the ones who protects that which is important. For now i will protect you until i can hear your telling of the prophecy. After i will decide if we seek the same goal or if our ways must part.

She sighed deep and the fur covering her body was blowing a bit in the wind sending some chills up her spine. She passed Wendy and entered the door to the inn.

-Are you all gonna stay out there all day or will you come in?

she held the door open with her foot while she losened the leatherband tieing the sword to the back, She placed it between her legs and used the band to tie her long hair in a ponytail hanging lifeless down her back.
She looked up to the clouds. They were darker now and she could almost feel how heavy they were where they hanged in the sky...

Johanna continued to stare up in the clouds and opend her mouth again.

- A thunderstorm... a bad omen. I can feel the darkness in the surroundings. Shadows lurks in every corner. Something is out to get us. I dont know what. But its out to kill us one by one.

As every one of the travelers entered the old building, it looked like a warm welcoming place even though it hadn't been used for a long time and was covered in dust and cobwebs. Yet, just the lighting of a fire in the blackened fireplace made everyone relax a bit more.

As various people started to brush their prospective seats clean of debris and other obstructions, Robin sat down in the nearest rocking chair that he could find. His axe set against the wall, blades down, he hooked his fingers together in a prayer-like gesture. He wasn't praying however and he hadn't for a long time. No gods answered him anymore so what was the point.

Instead, he looked around the room with perceptive blue eyes, clear like the ocean and equally deep to peer into. Yet, also like the ocean, they displayed cold, calculating thoughts and more mysteries than could be uncovered in a lifetime.

As everyone got comfortable, he cleared his throat to gather everyone's attention.

'Dear travelers, dear friends, dear...anyone. Welcome, to the Dark Pine Inn....'

Johanna took the seat next to Robin. Somehow in some mysterious way she couldnt put her finger on, she felt drawn to him. She looked at him as he searched the room with his peering blue eyes and instantly looked away a bit ashamed when his eyes reached hers. The magic was gone.

She too searched the room, she layed eyes on their company, it was a sight only the gods would understand. So many different persons from different cultures and yet so close in spirit.

Through the dusty window she saw the first lightening. And raindrops started to fall.

-It has begun...

As the rain started pouring down outside, leaking in through various small holes in the wooden roof, and the thunder started growing louder and louder in the distance, those who had gathered peered intently to the stranger sitting before them.

Robin's eyes briefly caught those of Johanna, but as she turned her head again he went on with this speech.

'As you can all see, this place has seen better days. But fate has brought us here for a reason. Many years ago, when this region was still wealthy and richly populated, the legendary uprising against King Wilbard II began with a meeting in this very inn'.

He peered around once more to see if this short tale sparked any memories amongst his company. Some might remember the tales of those days, they having been far too young to have actually witnessed it, but none gave an inch of recognition. Out of fear perhaps, or maybe to appear stoic.

'Now then, shall we begin with more...formal introductions? I for one would love to know who is here with me tonight'.....

Wandering Story... Empty Re: Wandering Story...

Post by Alakina Wed Nov 23, 2011 7:22 am

The room was silent, everyone twisted a bit where they was, never want to begin. She sighed and stood up.

I am Johanna Shadowwalker. A Sverlinien, a tribe existing up north following the horses. I am daughter of the tribes headpriestess Skryja Svalvarde and Dorm Dragonsbane. A female warrior isnt allowed in our tribe. From the moment they are born they get the mark of a priestess. My father hid me, raised me as a son, he tought me to swing the sword and to battle enemies. Many times have i defended my tribes borders on my beloved steed. When they found out about me i was banished, and can only return if i seek the blessing of the old goddess herself. My tribe understands the ways of a horse, thats why we are almost never defeated in battle. We work together with our partner.

I went out to seek the goddess of the old ways, with me i had my cousine. Greist. He decided to go back to the tribe and leave me to battle this on my own. The old ways are still important, if we turn away from it the lands will face chaos. We cannot let this happen. It has already begun!

Johanna pointed out the window where the lightning hammered the glass and rain fell as hard as bullets.

She sat down and started to listen to the other introducing themselfs, one by one they talked and letted the others knew what there goal was, why they were here. Only one of them had the same goal as Johanna. To find the goddess of the old ways and gain her blessing.

Johanna waited for the silence. and then got up from her chair.

Friends, i have heard everyone of you introducing youselfs, explaining what your goal is, I honor you! But my goal is very much different from yours. I therefor will break away from this party. We cannot achieve this together. Our ways will split here. May the goddess always be with you and protect your steps wherever they may lead you.

she sighed deep, and closed her eyes. In someway sad that she had to leave her newfounded friends, but her quest was important, she couldnt let herself became affected by the friendships strong hand.

She hesitated for a mere second and then opened her eyes again, took her sword wich was leaned against the wall and gathered her long hair in a losely tighted ponytail on her back. she opened the door and turned around.

What say you Robin of Pyrosius.
Our goal is the same, and our quests are not made for one man to conquer on his own. Will you follow me?

(and by this i am out of the story on this forum)
