Guild events! Empty Guild events!

Post by Elloa Tue Jan 03, 2012 4:14 pm

Hello everyone,

Since the release of SWTOR, our skype chat and our forums have know a very understandible decrease of activity.
The problem is that SWTOR itself is not the best game to play with many friends altogether. The storyline, the quests...everything encourage solo or small group playing. We are also splitted in level range, and PVP is limited with group of 4 persons. All of this is not encouraging a strong sense of community.

I propose to organise guild events regulary, atleast once a week, to keep the guild feeling, meet the characters of each others, and share a moment outside a chat. I think it's very important to do something together in addition of chatting to build a solid community.
This event could be either organised a random day, or we choose a fix day for our weekly event (that's a bit up to you, people). We could imagine something different every week to be sure everyone will have its fun one day, and to not be tired of anything.

There is not much activity we could imagine however at this stage of the game : Roleplay, World PVP and World bosses are the only activities where we could gather everyone (and still excluding the - lvl members) that I can think off.

  • Roleplaying is not something that everyone would enjoy though, however, I think guild meetings where everyone can be present physically, where players can exchange crafting hand to hand rather than by mail box, could be fun once in a while.

  • Datacron evening hunting could also be fun and usefull. We could start with low level zones, organise the hunt by small group to find all datacrons of an area.

  • World PVP is harder than we could think considering the "instances" or "chanel" of a zone and the fact that there is only two middle lvl planets with pvp encounters possible. However, if we start to "gank" in Alderaan, or Tatooine, I bet that we will face rapidely a counter offensive.

  • I'm not sure of the spawn rate of World bosses. I've summoned one by mistake this morning while questing in Taris. If they can be summoned at anytime, it's the kind of events we could plane in advance. If not we will have to rely on a bit more improvisation.

Share your advices, and your ideas, please !
Waiting to hear from you!

Even if it dosent fit in here, have you guys considered a vent / ts server, vent (used to?) has a montley fee but I think TS is free. This is a great way to get pepole talking even when playing, I for once tend to miss most of the guild chat when doing FPs, PvP and other stuff that's needs abit of focus.

We have already a Ventrilo. But no one use it. We were using Skype while playing Tera and Minecraft.
We will probably use Vent more once we do raid, or PVP or something like that. I know that I'd personaly not hang out in a voice chat while doing my quest. Don't want be disturbed during my cutscenes Wink
