Republic - Empire - Poll n°4

I am confused also, 2 votes if you're Empire? I didn't get 2 votes, and even then I don't see how it matters. Quite a few people here are willing to go with the flow it seems, so why not go with the flow and make your vote count?

Empire voters has two possibilities aka vote for Empire only, or Empire main-Rep alt. Both of those possibilities count together. So at the moment the count is 3 Empire (1Emp only, 2 Empire main) - 7 Rep - 1 vote later - 4 blank to the majority. 15 votes/20



As I said earlier, I perfectly understand the frustration or anger, or whatever feeling you can call it.
This is why there is a vote. This is why your advice is asked. To know what the majority wants.

I understand you perfectly Magnus, you make perfectly sense and there is no reason for anyone to be mad at you. In another way, I also understand the feelings of the person who truely believe that they would prefer the other side. Till it was two persons, I had tried to "reason" them. But once I felt it was not only two persons I though a poll was neccessary.

Honnestly for my case - I don't care - I just want everyone (or the most poeple) happy. I'm fine playing one side or another, or both. Or just Minecraft. Well, maybe not just minecraft.





Now, let's speak seriously of how the situation can be solved for real. We will obviously discuss deeply the question. But here is how I see things. (this is my personal views) :

The persons that "lose" their vote, will have to choose : follow the community or staying with their favourite side. There is no wrong choice and whatever is your descision it has to be respected.
It seems quite in favour of Republic at the moment.

This is how I see things. Whitestar Empire will become a alt guild. This will not be fair for the players that really want play Empire and will be left alone in a low populated guild. There is not 100 solutions. I only see two.
- Either someone else take the guild in hand and recruit as he wants. But this is not a solution I really like, because it will overhelm the community with lot of unknown persons, or it will make Whitestar (Empire) become meaningless.
- The other solution is that those who want to stay Empire join another guild of their choice. Will that make them unwelcome on the forum, or in any of our other guilds. No. You would always be welcome. Whatever game and guild you are playing.

It's a bit sad obviously, but its perfectly understandible. I understand here the feeling and the reactions of everyone. i just hope that no one will feel too much disapointed or angry, whatever happen.
I really try to make it fair and the best for all.

Couldn't you have done so BEFORE we kinda played 3-4 weeks empire...

I voted Republic, because it has always had my vote and it is the side I find more appealing.

I don't have much to lose by voting Republic, I've hardly started the game. So it makes me feel a bit guilty to vote Republic, because there are those who have invested a lot of time on the Empire guild and would like to stay there. But as this is our personal, honest opinion of what side we prefer to play, then that's mine.

What's most important to me is to be with my friends, though, and if that means playing on the Empire side, then I'm quite fine with that as well.

A.O.D we kinda did this before we played Empire. We did it like 3 times.

Considering what you are trying to do here Elloa I belive that opening up recruting in an alt guild would be a really shitty ide, if your going republic and want to recruite I would recomend that you recruite from the Republic side and let people know you have an Empire alt-guild but if you want the majority of your play time to be on the empire side you should look esle where.

I really don't want to make anyone feel guilty or anything, the numbers speak for themself (about 75% want republic / go with the flow).

The thing I'm really scratching my head about is that everyone said you were playing Republic in beta not to spoil the Empier story and now you decied you want to play that "ruied story"? Anyways I'm not going to rant on about this, I'll enjoy the closest days in the guild, will wish you good luck once you all move on and mabey I'll get to fuck you up some time in PvP.

Seeing as votes do count please change mine from "BLANK" to "Empire"

Ill still be with the guild no matter but I do prefer Empire a lot more than Rep, so thats my vote :-)

I'm really sorry if anyone here felt betrayed.
No one wanted to deplease others, or to trick people.

I know that the situation right now is rather depleasant. However, I do all I can to make it the least depleasant. That everyone, atleast felt listened, heard, and respected.

It's true that it would have been logical to stick with our choice decided (with 3 poll) before the release. However, when you see a majority of players beeing tired of the Empire side for several reasons, I guess that it would have been stupid to not evaluate the feeling of the community and see if a change is not worth it.

Now, we have not discussed about changing server and everything, but for that I do believe everyone will agree to alteast keep our Legacy, and as there is no more queue anymore, there is also no valid reasons to want this.



I really do hope that no one will keep any hard feeling concerning this.

Well I've had quite much time to play past 2 weeks if my body gave me the chance, I have been playing a little. very little

A way to solve this would be a "give and take" approach

The Pubs will support the Imps with hardmode/ops(as time permits ofc) since some already have 50s primed to go and no 50 on the pub

The Imps will level a Pubschar(as time permits ofc) to support the Pub to do the same

With this Solution everyone gives something and gets something back in return also we will be able to do all Ops and Hardmodes from both sides
and no one should feel forced to play something he doesn't like although i hope it will be done for the sake of the community also i am certain the peeps will help with equip and such to make their live easier in return also the classes are carbon copies of each other

In the evenings (i guess) we could do the Hardmodes and Ops as guild together first on the Empire since we are already good to go then on the Pub side.


P.S if you run Swtor in a borderless window we can use our skype chat and are not bound to a faction chat

I really like this idea.



Summary of the situation :

We have 19 votes/21, if the 2 last persons votes Empire we have 8 - 8 + "blanks", if they vote Republic (or something else), Empire "loses".
No one have voted to have 2 guild in the same time, but maybe the situation as it appear now might change your mind?
To make it works however, we need to organise this properly.

1. Empire voters (Amu, AOD, Kinjazor, Ruth, Kantrell, and Aurrius) : would a solution like that please you ? Or would you rather leave Whitestar and join a fulltime Empire guild? Your advice is capital here, because Republic voters are in majority those who have more free time, a lvl 50 in Empire side, and I'm almost sure all of them would not mind to do heroics and raid together on empire side in addition to Republic side. I myself (despite my slow poke attitude) wanted to continue to play my IA anyway even if we go republic. I'll just give up my Sith warrior alt

2. The skype chat instead/in addition of the guild chat seems fine for me. Need to try that in game. I'm almost always turning the chat off anyway. This might be the perfect soolution to never have the feelings to play in a empty guild no matter what side members are playing. We shoudl have some members join the skype in that case

3. As organisation, there is different possibilities. We save days for Empire, or day for Republic. We could also simply organise events and rendez vous. Players with a lot of time would be able to play almost equally on both side. While players with few time would focus on one side. However, instead of making an alt in the same faction, you can aswell create one in the opposite one.

4. To balance this we could open slightly and carefully the recruitement.

I am all for it since its also my idea
i thought of a more spontaneous way to organize to organize groups fro HM's over alts or the skype chat we can ofc also organize more fixed dates that would come in handy for ops

I know most of you played with each for a long time so I can see why you don't want to part ways, tbh I haven't. Sure there are a few fun guys around and some I don't even know who they are personally I'm already checking out my options, no rush for me. If you wana add me on your friend list and poke me once you hit 50 and get bored of republic, go for it.
What you wana do with the guild is q guild decision and something I no longer wana be a part of.

I will take a "short" break from playing and see if i can gather up interest to reroll republic and start all over again. I respect the voting and really "hope" it will be the last one.

I personally do not like the idea of have two sides to play on. It will kinda split our guild and player base(which we already talked about in the previous voting threats).

Personally I dont get to play enough to be able to commit to two sides, so I will have a main on whichever side we go to

(if it is Rep then Ill just finish the IA storyline to see what happens but Id not be in the Whitestar guild on that side)

When I logged in last night there was only 2 of us on Empire side, and soon after only me for about an hour so I created Kantrel the Smuggler and there were 8/9 playing Rep at that time lol - Im really enjoying the Smuggler storyline too so I am fine with either side.

We have finally come to a conclusion and with this latest poll It's obvious that Whitestar will be rolling on the Republic side instead. I'm really sorry for the new recruits for this inconvinience, and I hope you guys repect the choice. It was given that at some point the republicans would want a new poll because the Empire never really suited them. This however was expected by many players and It's a bit out fault that we recruited so fast to the Empire guild. Some of us have known each other for longer than others and we respect if some of you don't feel like rerolling to the republic. We totally have understanding for this. If you think Whitestar is the right place for you then you are more than welcome to continue your journey and the development of Whitestar as republic!

Our plans for now is to focus on our main characters on the republic side under the same guild name and server. We currently don't have any real plans for the Empire guild apart that it will remain as an alt guild. However, in the future we might organize more events there too, but as for now we don't have the enough members nor the time to focus on two guilds, especially not when we are bussy levling our new mains.

The goal for Whitestar now is to level as a community and enjoy the game to the fullest (obviously more than some of us did as empire). We will be running operations and hardmodes as planned and various guild events as a community. The first event that will be taking place is a new screnshoot of the new guild, no ETA yet.

I've not answered immediatly, because I wasn't sure it was an official good bye. I completly understand and respect your descision, even if I'd have prefered it ended differently. Well, ended is a big word, because you are very welcome in Whitestar in the Republic side if you change your mind, or just want a small alt. I let you full access on the forum for now. Maybe later if I discover your ultimate goal to gank us in PVP, I'll remove you from SWTOR group and add you in Friends, so we can build or revenge privately ^^

Our internet died, and has been dead for 2 days (back up day 3).
Absolutley not keen on republic side, have rolled and deleted several low lvl chars. I didn't like republic feel and i didn't like the /1 chat.

I'll give it one more go for the sake of it.

If you really don't like Republic - it's really too bad, but we all understand. Don't feel forced to play something you really do not enjoy. To make the effort to try it is already a great prove of friendship!
