My latest project

So, this is what I've been working on since school started again this semester. A group project where we had to design a library for three people and one book, the book being Arabian Nights or 1001 Nights, and the intention of the library being to read out loud to each other from the book. We were supposed to grab inspiration for the library from the book, i.e. base it on one or more stories. We also had to build it in a 1:1 scale with a limited amount of materials.

We based our library on the story "The wise man and his foster son" (not sure if that is the correct name in English), but in short the story is about an old wise man and his foster son (duh) who falls in love with a princess. To get to see this princess his foster father creates some kinda balm that makes him invisible. So in the story he appears in three different "stages"; Visible, partly visible and invisible. This is pretty much what our project is based on and depending on where you stand our building goes through these three stages as well.

We got all right feedback on the project from the teachers, especially from the woodworking master who thought we challenged the material we used really well! It was quite risky, since we didn't really have any idea if it would stand in the end. But luckily it did.. Or it would have been a poor presentation I suppose..
