Popori race

A popori race.

From whitestar members what will I require:

5 People on checkpoints: 1. Start position, 2. Checkpoint A, 3. Checkpoint B, 4. 2 people at Finish Line
2 People to ride aside of gummi bears.
1 A bookie (or however it is spelled to take care of bets!)
5 lvl 60s to protect the crowd (maybe ask someone to help aswell)

Participants and guests gather at the entrance to Ostgarath from Velika side.
After pleasentries and popori preparation we start.

At checkpoint A and B: Someone takes screenies and such to have for the future. Also Announces in Area chat a current 5 people leading a race.

At a finish line same deal as with checkpoints but 2 people there to guarantee fairness of a verdict.

I suggest Wendy to ride with a crowd and fraps?

Race rules:

Only popori participants.
No mounts.
No pvp during a race.

Everything else goes.

How are you gonna make sure everyone goes for A to B and C though?
I mean it sounds easy to cheat and just run in at an random point?
Or is that the point of the screenshots? Screenshot every runner?

Also, I would suggest having another guild to help us to fight back gankers.
Cause if this gets popular, people will be there to grief and ruin this.
EDS anyone?

Last idea, is it possible to get the route closer to the beach?
I mean we went for a pirate theme and sandy beaches, this route is mostly in the jungle >_<
(I don't like jungles )

EDIT: I think route may change.
I admit it is a boring route but safe to lowbies.
When I get back home I will check possible COAST LINE route.

And as for checkpoints, I wanna everyone know where they are so they go there. I dont care if they cut from a to b with straight line or follow the road or anything just to 'check' at those points.

But my point is , what's stopping me from entering the race at point B ? Or Starting the race, then run to the side (hide) and mount up and un-mount just before the finish?

That is why we got people running with a crowd:)
We make a list of people in the race.

Would be awesome if EDS would be willing to act a bodyguards (lorewise all elin guild as bodyguard for a popori race)

Considering that we migth not have Osthgarath, we might have to revise our original plan, and organise the race somewhere else.
It wouldn't matter so much I suppose.

For example, it could be from Velika Gates to Lumbertown. Or the other way arround. Or Cresentia - Lumbertown, there is this nice tunnel to pass through, and a pretty lake.

We need to start to seriously plan this event. We will need your help people, so if you are up, just sign below.
I'm up for anything : check point, stream commenting, whatever.

Would be nice to stream the players before the race start and make a little comment about them, like in a sportive race at television.
